Allman Brothers Band Announce Final Concerts
The Allman Brothers Band have announced their final 9 shows before they call it quits at the end of 2014 after 45 years of touring. Their headlining and festival-closing set at this weekend’s 10th annual Mountain Jam Festival will be the last time to catch the Brothers in upstate New York and will feature the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame group performing the first two ABB albums in their entirety (1969’s The Allman Brothers Band and 1970’s Idlewild South) in addition to other fan favorites.
The Allman Brothers have been a huge part of our festival since the beginning; we named the festival after an ABB tune! We cannot be more excited and honored to celebrate the end of their 45-year long career and the festival’s 10th anniversary with Gregg, Jaimoe, Butch, Warren, Derek, Oteil and Marc.
-Gary Chetkof, Mountain Jam founder and co-owner
In addition to two other festival appearances this summer, the Allman Brothers will wrap their year up with six nights at NYC’s Beacon Theatre in late October (making up four shows that were cancelled earlier this year and adding two more dates).
