K-JAMM isn’t just a band – it’s a family, it’s a gathering, it’s a result of strange coincidences, and a journey.
K-JAMM is a 6-piece rock band with roots in soul, folk, and blues. They formed in 2012 when Jeff Hanni (guitar); Kevin Iobst (singer/songwriter) and Matt Sweitzer (keys/organ) got together with a mutual desire to create meaningful, foot-stomping music. Chemistry was immmediate and the guys sought to round out the group. They approached Ariel Merkt to provide backing vocals and rhythm as well as Michael Sweitzer to take on bass. Scott Westgate joined soon thereafter to complete the band on drums.
Humble starts in taverns and pubs allowed the band to hone their skills, refine their sound, and bring their music to a wider audience. They spent the last year recording their debut album consisting of 11 tracks ranging from soulful balads to unyielding rock n’ roll songs.
Influences of the band include Neil Young, Bob Dylan, The Band, She and Him, Sly and the Family Stone, David Bowie, Portugal. The Man, and Kimbra.
